Fans get first look at new star taking on Harry Potter role in Hogwarts uniform
Round glasses? Check. Untidy hair? Check. Telltale lightning scar on forehead? Check again. It could only be Harry Potter – as the actor portraying the boy wizard in an upcoming TV series is pictured in character for the first time.
Picking up the wand is Dominic McLaughlin, 11, and producers have clearly opted to keep the classic ‘Potter look’ firmly established by his predecessor, Daniel Radcliffe, back in 2001.

The reboot, which began filming this week, is due to air in 2027.
Joining Dominic will be Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley – all selected from a pool of more than 30,000 young actors.
It comes as HBO announced Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as cousin Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as flying teacher Madam Rolanda Hooch and Anton Lesser as wandmaker Garrick Ollivander.
JK Rowling previously revealed she worked closely with writers on the show’s first two episodes, although she did not pen them herself.
