JENNIE’s ‘Fallen Angel’ Wins Billboard’s New Music Poll With 82% of the Vote

JENNIE did not just release new music this week. She also got a pretty clear answer from fans about how they feel about it.

The BLACKPINK star's new EP, Fallen Angel, received more than 82% of the votes in Billboard's latest new music poll, putting it comfortably ahead of releases from Olivia Rodrigo, Ky-Mani Marley, Alex Warren and Alabama Shakes.

The poll opened on Friday, August 28, and closed on Sunday, with JENNIE's project emerging as the overwhelming favourite. Billboard reported that the result puts Fallen Angel at the top of a week that brought several notable new releases.

For JENNIE, it gives her latest solo era another early win.

JENNIE Has Another Solo Release Out

Fallen Angel is JENNIE's first solo collection since Ruby, her full-length debut album released last year.

The new EP arrived through her own ODD ATELIER label and Columbia Records, with Less Than a Lover serving as the lead release.

The title track, Fallen Angel, followed on August 28 with a darker, dreamy sound and a music video built around the mood of the song.

The digital version of the EP currently contains three tracks: Less Than a Lover, Fallen Angel and Heaven.

But fans who want the complete project will find more songs on the physical CD.

That version expands the EP to six tracks, adding Sweettooth, Lockitdown and Face. Those three songs are not included on the streaming version, making the physical release a little more interesting for fans who want the full collection.

The CD is currently available for preorder, with orders expected to begin shipping on October 30.

She Beat Some Big Releases

JENNIE's 82% result is notable because she was not competing against obscure releases.

Olivia Rodrigo's Serena Joy, Ky-Mani Marley's Love and Energy, Alex Warren's WILDCHILD and Alabama Shakes' I Must Be Dreaming were among the other projects included in the poll.

None came particularly close to JENNIE's final share of the vote.

The result is also another reminder of how much attention BLACKPINK's members continue to command individually.

JENNIE has been building her solo career alongside her work with the group, and her releases have consistently put her in conversations around the biggest names in global pop.

Her latest project is already getting that kind of attention from fans.

The Poll Is Not a Chart, But It Still Says Something

There is an important distinction here.

Winning a Billboard fan poll does not mean Fallen Angel has topped an official sales or streaming chart. The poll measures what respondents chose as their favourite new release that week.

Still, an 82% share is difficult to overlook.

It suggests that among the people who took part, JENNIE's new music was not simply another release in a crowded week. It was the one they wanted to pick.

And that is probably the most interesting part of the result.

Fallen Angel is only beginning its run, so the bigger test will come from what listeners do after the first-week excitement fades.

For now, though, JENNIE has a very clear early result on her side.

Fans picked Fallen Angel — and they did it by a huge margin.
