Carlos Boozer is soaking up one of life’s full-circle moments. His twin sons, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, just landed on the cover of Slam magazine — and they’re heading to the same campus where their dad built his name: Duke University.

Slam, a staple in basketball culture since the ’90s, dropped the cover on Instagram with a fitting nod to the family’s hoops legacy:

“Cameron and Cayden Boozer aren’t the first people in their family to play ball at Duke. Just like their famous pops, Carlos, the Boozer twins are looking to bring a chip to Durham.

.”

Carlos didn’t need a long caption to express how proud he was. One word — simple, powerful, and full of heart:

“Family

Carlos Boozer suited up for Duke from 1999 to 2002, helped win a national title, and went on to have a strong NBA career as a two-time All-Star. Now, Cameron and Cayden are ready to carry the torch — and maybe even take it further.

Cameron, a 6’9″ power forward and the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2025, has been racking up awards left and right: Gatorade National Player of the Year, Florida Mr. Basketball, and Mr. Basketball USA. His twin, Cayden, is a talented point guard who knows how to lead and set the tempo. Both starred at Christopher Columbus High School and earned selections to the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game.

They considered other big programs — Miami and Florida among them — but in the end, Duke felt like home. And yes, their dad’s legacy played a role. But make no mistake: they’re determined to build something of their own.

Even with a last name that turns heads, the Boozer twins are clear — they’re not trying to be carbon copies of Carlos.

“We just wanted to make our own,” Cayden said in the Slam feature.

Cameron added that growing up around an NBA player taught them more than just skills — it taught them the little things that separate good from great.

“There are so many small things,” he shared. “Just kind of like what it takes to be an NBA player.”

Legacy aside, Cameron and Cayden want their own story, their own shine — and it starts in Durham.
