Face of AFLCA to celebrate young Africans
The Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards (AFLCA) is set to celebrate young leaders and redefine beauty pageantry through its maiden Face of AFLCA. The pageantry will showcase Africa’s rich fashion, culture heritage and leadership abilities.
The convener, Ambassador Mark Idiahi, at a briefing, described it as a groundbreaking initiative that combines the glamour of a world-class beauty pageant with the transformative power of leadership.
Spearheaded by the African Future Leadership Conference in collaboration with African Future Leadership Magazine, the pageant is positioned as a new chapter in the organisation’s decade-long mission of youth empowerment and leadership development across the continent.
“As we mark our 10th anniversary this year, we believe it’s both timely and meaningful to spotlight African cultural heritage. This celebration not only honours our decade-long journey, but also pays tribute to the rich legacy of our continent and the vibrant future we are building,” he said.
Contestants will represent various regions across Africa and participate in activities ranging from cultural runway showcases to intellectual dialogues, professional training, and social campaigns designed to prepare them as agents of change.
Winners will receive prizes totaling ₦10 million. The overall winner will take home a cash prize of ₦2.5 million, a CAV endorsement deal, international modeling contracts, portfolio shoots, and a feature in African Future Leadership magazine.
The first runner-up will also receive ₦2.5 million, along with similar modeling and media features. The second runner-up is expected to walk away with ₦1.5 million and additional benefits. All top three finalists will be professionally trained and spotlighted as emerging African leaders.
The selection process involves public registration, voting, training camps, and regional cultural showcases, with the grand finale slated for October 2025. The competition is open to all Africans aged 18–35 and embraces inclusivity across gender and body types.
