The woman, known as Bekee on TikTok, was set to wed on Sunday, June 6.

She had prepared everything in anticipation of marrying the love of her life unaware that the ceremony would not go ahead.

In a series of videos, she shared moments from the preparations with her bridesmaids up to the point where she entered and sat inside the church.

The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 10 am, took an unexpected turn as she remained seated inside the church in her white gown and veil, waiting until past 3 pm.

“My man went outside where a discussion was taking place, and I could do nothing but wait for the final response,” she said.

The Nigerian woman explained that neither she nor her fiancé had done anything wrong. They were both excited about the big day and had planned everything.

However, the officiant refused to proceed with the ceremony because her father was not present.

“My wedding was called off because my father couldn’t make it, and he sent a representative,” she shared.

Bekee added that after receiving the news, she sat anxiously in the church, trying to process what had happened.

To cope with the moment, she recorded videos to document the day, saying it was the only way to maintain her sanity.

The bride’s explanation did not sit well with many online users, who speculated that there was more to the story than she had shared.

Some accused her of hiding the real reason behind the cancellation.

Sweet Sally:

“How is this a reason for a wedding to be cancelled? There’s more to it, but you’re not saying it. So what about those whose fathers are dead? Should they raise them from the dead before they can get married? This story doesn’t add up.”

Vawulance Headquarters:

“Probably the father reached out to the church and complained he wasn’t acknowledged throughout the process. You lot need to give us the full gist so we can understand.”

Asamose Fashion:

“The test result says you’re pregnant. They did a test before marriage counselling. You ignored their advice, went ahead and got pregnant. Now, the wedding is set, but the final result shows you’re expecting, and they won’t join you in that condition. Am I lying?”

In other news, reported that Amos Rono from Bomet was left devastated after his lover, Nelly Chepkoech, cancelled their wedding just hours before he was due to pay the dowry.

News of the bride cancelling her own wedding spread widely on social media, capturing public attention and sparking numerous reactions.

Many sympathised with Rono, who received support from various quarters, including a sponsored holiday to Mombasa.
