Maputo, Mozambique – As part of the World Book Day, celebrated on the 23rd of April 2025, the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) took part in a Civil and Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity with the Primary School of Cumbeza.

Cumbeza Primary School, in the Marracuene district, experienced a different morning. Some members from the EUMAM MOZ mission, together with some crew members from the Italian ship Luigi Rizzo, currently on Operation Atalanta, marked World Book Day by spending time with the students and donating books to the school.

Creating awereness to the importance of books and education in schools, the participating members were able to get a close contact with the difficulties that these institutions experience and how many studentes suffer the impact of a lack of access to learning resources.

In addition, was also donated food and toys to the students.
Participation in initiatives like this are essential for promoting solidarity, support and raise awareness in communities.
