Equity Bank Kenya has offered paid internships to 750 top 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) performers.

The bank announced the students who excelled in last year's exams had been selected under the esteemed Equity Leaders Programme (ELP).
Successful candidates will be enrolled in ELP's pre-university paid internship programme and will spend six months interning at Equity Bank branches.
"The cohort consists of 350 Wings to Fly Scholars and Elimu Scholars who achieved grade A and A-, 167 top-performing students from each sub-county who scored grade A (plain), and 233 top national scholars who earned a minimum of grade A (plain) with 84 points in their final exams," the financial company stated.
The ELP programme has expanded considerably to date, serving 29,515 scholars enrolled in local and international universities.
Equity Group Foundation executive chairman James Mwangi said the students will garner transformative and valuable work experience.
He explained that during the six months, interns will nurture their leadership skills as they prepare to drive change in their communities
"This programme is not just about providing you with valuable work experience, it’s about nurturing your leadership skills, empowering you to become change-makers in your communities and beyond, and equipping you with the tools to succeed in both your university studies and your professional future.
"You represent the future of Africa, and we, at Equity, are excited to walk with you as you take your next steps. This is just the beginning of your journey to greatness. We believe in you, and we are here to support you every step of the way," Mwangi reiterated in a statement.

Through the Wings to Fly programme, the bank fully funds thousands of students from needy households.
The programme attracted over 56,000 applicants across the country in 2024.
One thousand applicants were selected for the 2024 cohort on a fully funded secondary school education.
The scholarship also caters for the students' transport to and from school, pocket money, and other education costs.
