TORONTO — Thunderstorms are working their way through southeastern Ontario as a heat wave continues to blanket parts of the province.
Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Ottawa and the surrounding area, saying the line of storms was moving east at 40 kilometres per hour.
The weather agency predicts rainfall of up to 50 millimetres, wind gusts that could reach 90 kilometres per hour and hail the size of nickels.
It says utility outages and flash floods are also possible.
