Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that his meeting with US President Donald Trump mainly "focused on efforts" to secure the release of hostages held in Gaza. Speaking during his third US visit since Trump began his second term on January 20, Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to "release all our hostages, both living and dead, the elimination of Hamas’ military and governing capabilities and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel," according to The Times of Israel. He further said that the two leaders also discussed the outcome and future implications of "the great victory achieved over Iran."Netanyahu said the two leaders also discussed the outcome, implications, and future possibilities of the joint operation carried out by Israel and US against Iran, calling it "the great victory achieved over Iran."He also praised the close ties between the US and Israel under Trump’s leadership, calling it unprecedented in the country’s history. "In the entire 77 years of Israel's history, there's never been the degree of coordination, cooperation and trust between and that we have today, and I credit President Trump with this extraordinary achievement," he said.

Netanyahu also said the two leaders discussed the outcome and future impact of "the great victory we achieved over Iran."Netanyahu's return to the White House for fresh talks came after Qatari mediators' caution that securing a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Doha would require more time.

"It's a tragedy, and he wants to get it solved, and I want to get it solved, and I think the other side wants to," Trump earlier told reporters whilst announcing Netanyahu's return.Netanyahu, who dined with Trump on Monday evening, recommended Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and personally handed him a copy of the letter he said was sent to the Nobel committee. Trump has been nominated several times in the past by both US citizens and foreign politicians.
