'Emotional' Jack Grealish makes his Man City feelings very clear while at Oasis gig - Fan Banter

Published 10 hours ago6 minute read

Jack expressed his deep love for the club to fans at an Oasis concert in Manchester, despite rumours of a potential exit after falling out of favour with manager Pep Guardiola.

Grealish, who joined City for £100m in 2021, and not included in the Club World Cup squad, could be sold for £40m, a significant loss.

Both Grealish and Guardiola were seen enjoying the Oasis gig, in their down time, with Guardiola celebrated by the band and spending time backstage with the Gallagher family.

“You know what? Bro, I love City more than anything. And do you know what I love more than anything? City fans. They’re the best fans in the world”.

Grealish has received criticism for off-field antics while struggling for game time at City, Guardiola however insists that he didn’t leave him out of the Club World Cup squad as a result of those problems.

“The only reason he didn’t play minutes was me, not because he was incorrect or whatever.

“I want the best for Jack, his partner, his kids, his family.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen right now or have any doubts about the qualities of Jack. The quality has always been there, the year of the treble would have been impossible.”

A month ago, Jack Grealish hit back at a fan’s criticism of his recent form and was also defended by Gabby Agbonlahor.

The comment was made under a talkSPORT Instagram video, captioned “Gabby is not happy with how Guardiola has treated Jack Grealish 😫”.

It saw Gabby Agbonlahor discuss Grealish’s reported exclusion from Manchester City’s 35-man squad for the Club World Cup.

: We love him. We do. And we know he loves us. All we need is consistency. And maybe a pay cut 🤣🩵 jokes

: him being drunk makes it more genuine as you speak truthfully when drunk

: Truth comes out after a few bevvies. Good lad! Hope by some miracle he stays 🙏

: He used to say that about Notts County fans, Jack you naughty boy!!

: The reason City fans love him and the reason he’s off this summer in one video

: You can want him to be sold, that’s fair enough, but I don’t understand how anyone could seriously hate him. A massive part of our history whether you like it or not

: God I love this boy 😔

: One of our own

: What a bloke. Love him.

: You know what, I actually considered accepting that him coming back may be a good idea, but then I remember him off the pitch and see this and I’m like, I don’t want that at my club

: Mate, he’s pissed out his tree surrounded by Man City fans, you expect him to start saying fuck Man City I love Villa. He’s just in the moment.

: It’s not what he said that doesn’t matter

: Ah fairs, well, I feel for him a bit, he’s clearly not dealing with being thrown away by Pep very well. Hope he ends up somewhere where he is valued and it makes him fix up. It’s kinda like Merson isn’t it.

: It’s a shame, but it happens way too often, you don’t see other players in this state every other week!

: I don’t see the problem. He was like this at Villa and performed week in, week out. I’d have him back in a heartbeat

: Grovel all you like — they’ve long closed the door on you.

: Good lad, Jack Grealish. Let him live. If he wants to go out, get pissed, and be himself — let him. He’s not hurting anyone. The way people queue up to tear him down is embarrassing. Constantly setting him up to fail so they can feel morally superior. Jack’s real. That’s why people love him. And that’s exactly why the media can’t stand it.

: We all say things we regret when we’re pissed

: Can we now have an end to the “he’s still villa through and through” crowd please? It’s a job to him, it always was, he’s no more a Villa fan than Watkins is! #AVFC

@Komps4: To be fair it’s really sad how it’s ended. What a top, top bloke. We will still remember those treble memories.
