Electoral Body Bombshell: INEC Rejects Controversial PDP Ekiti Primary Letter

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has emphatically distanced itself from a letter circulating across various platforms, which falsely claimed to have approved resolutions concerning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) meeting and the postponement of the Ekiti State congress/governorship primary election.

According to a statement released by Victoria Eta-Messi, INEC’s director of voter education and publicity, the purported correspondence, dated November 10, 2025, did not originate from the commission. Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the signature of the secretary to the commission appended on the document was meticulously forged by unscrupulous elements, indicating a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and political stakeholders.

INEC has declared unequivocally that this fake correspondence did not emanate from the office of its secretary or any official channel of the commission. In response to this grave anomaly, INEC is actively collaborating with security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into the matter. The commission is committed to ensuring that the perpetrators responsible for this forgery are apprehended swiftly and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, setting a precedent against such electoral interference.

Consequently, the Independent National Electoral Commission has issued a strong advisory to the general public, all political parties, and media outlets. They are urged to completely disregard the contents of the aforementioned correspondence, as it is entirely fake and carries no legitimacy or official endorsement from INEC.
