The Chairman of Ekiti State Kick-Boxing Association, Prince Adekunle Ogidi, has presented equipment worth millions of naira to the state government preparatory to the National Sports Festival (NSF) in Ogun State.

The chairman who made the presentation at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium sports hall in Ado-Ekiti yesterday said the donation was to complement sports development in the state.

He added that the gesture was to support the investment in sports being championed by the sports loving Governor of the state, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.

“The initiative is an opportunity and a divine call to support Governor Oyebanji and to support the young talents as they prepare for the National Sports Festival,” he said.

He, therefore, charged the seven athletes who will represent the state in kick-boxing to make good use of the equipment to win laurels for the state, promising to reward those who would make podium appearances at the games.

The Technical Advisor to governor Oyebanji on Sports Development, Dr. Olusola Osetoba, commended the donor and members of the Kick-Boxing Association for their kind gesture.

She maintained that the association chairman has actively supported sports development in the state since his inauguration by the governor.
