Eagles player changes agents ahead of Super Bowl LIX and free agency - pennlive.com

starting defensive line rushes Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Sunday in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, one agent will be watching closely, hoping his newest client, defensive end Josh Sweat, has a big day that could help him land a major contract in free agency.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Sweat has changed agents, switching from Klutch Sports, with whom he signed a little more than a year ago, to Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha of Rosenhaus Sports Representation. Rosenhaus has extensive experience working with the Eagles. with his current clients on the team including cornerback Darius Slay, defensive tackle Jalen Carter and offensive lineman Fred Johnson.

Sweat, 27, led the Eagles in sacks during the regular season with eight, along with six quarterback hits, 16 pressures and 41 tackles. In March 2024, Sweat and the Eagles agreed to a restructured deal that paid him $10 million guaranteed and included incentives of up to $13 million, staving off a situation in which Sweat was on the trading block. As a pending free agent, Sweat will be one of the top edge rushers on the market, joining former Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick, New Orleans Saints defensive end Chase Young, and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Matt Judon. And, given Sweat’s age and production, he could receive a big payday either in the form of an extension with the Eagles or a contract with a new team.

The Eagles will be thin at the edge rusher and face important decisions that will affect the position group. Linebackers Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt remain on rookie deals, but there is uncertainty surrounding Sweat and defensive end Brandon Graham, who will also be a free agent.
