E-commerce: MicNet Concept Targets N54bn annual Revenue In S'east
A tech service provider, MicNet Concept International has disclosed plans to generate over N54 billion in annual revenue from its first South-East E-commerce marketing platform.
Chief Executive Officer, Mike Neboh dropped the hint in Awka, Anambra state during a press conference, said the platform, www.e-commerceplus.org was created to promote digital inclusion and enhance regional trade.
He said the platform called E-commerce Plus was targeted at bridging affordability and quality, offering convenient online shopping and services without compromising value.
He said, "The E-commerce Plus is a comprehensive digital platform that establishes connections between businesses and brands and their end users.
"The platform is designed to accommodate enterprises of all sizes, from small and medium enterprises to large corporations, facilitating the distribution of products and services to targeted demographics.
"It represents a viable initiative supported by extensive marketing efforts and institutional endorsements, with the objective of positioning itself as a leading digital destination for transactions, empowerment, and opportunities to enhance lifestyle choices.
""Through collaborative partnerships with each southeastern state, this platform aims to generate an annual revenue of over 54 billion naira.
"These partnerships are intended to ensure that every resident of each state registers on the platform, thereby maximizing its reach and impact.
Nebo listed benefits of the platform to include financial support for businesses in the states; assistance in rehabilitating defunct factories and establishing new ones and support for university students in the southeastern region.
"Others are decreased transportation fees, potentially reducing costs by up to 30% for the public; availability of public grants up to N200,000; agricultural funding for modern digital farming equipment, including tractors and support for hospitals to help lower medication costs.
He added, "Objectives of the platform include enhancement of the digital landscape and fostering digital inclusiveness within the southeastern region as well as establishment of legitimate business platform that facilitates interactions between consumers and businesses.
"To contribute to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); to cultivate a supportive environment conducive to students, business and economic growth.
"To create opportunities for businesses and individuals, enabling the realization of dreams and aspirations across every sector: Education, health, finance, Agriculture, Entertainment etc and to implement measures that provide relief to individuals during periods of economic hardship."
While announcing September 4 date for the platform launch during the second edition of South-East World-Class Digital Summit (SE-WCDS), in Imo State, Nebo urged residents, innovators, business owners and corporate organisations in the zone to register in order to maximise its reach and impact.
Zonal Coordinator of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Gloria Nwakamma identified access to market as the major challenge of SMEs.
Nwakamma represented by Anambra state Manager, SMEDAN, Mrs Chito Onuzulike said the agency provided support and guidance in view of the market access the platform offered to SMEs.
On his part, Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, Imo State, Dr Chimezie Amadi underscored the importance government placed on digitalisation of all sectors.
Amadi, represented by Learning Supervisor at Imo Digital City, Chibuike Mebrim called for support of the project as it would promote digital inclusion in the region.
