E-commerce businesses need to master policies for sustainable development

On the afternoon of June 25, in Ha Noi, the Centre for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX), the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with TikTok Viet Nam, BIDV and e-commerce operation consulting units organised a training programme with the theme "Long-term business - Starting from the law". The programme aimed to raise awareness and capacity to comply with the law in the increasingly developing digital environment.

The event attracted widespread attention from the e-commerce community, with the participation of more than 700 sellers and affiliate marketing creators, along with many businesses and experts in the field of e-commerce.

Sharing at the programme, Nguyen Huu Tuan, Director of eComDX Centre emphasis that Legality is the backbone of the digital economy. A strong and sustainable e-commerce community cannot lack a solid legal foundation.

From the practice of managing and developing the e-commerce sector in recent times, Tuan provided an overview of the current legal corridor, formed on the basis of pillar documents such as Decree No.52/2013/ND-CP, Decree No.85/2021/ND-CP, Law on Electronic Transactions 2023, Law on Commerce, Law on Protection of Consumer Rights. This system of documents regulates from business conditions, website registration/posting, contract content, payment methods to handling violations and dispute resolution.

In terms of financial support, BIDV representative, Ms. Nguyen Kieu Trang - Head of Distribution Channel Development Department, Wholesale Product Policy Department said that the bank has designed flexible credit packages specifically for e-commerce sellers.

Accordingly, BIDV focuses on supporting sellers through key pillars, combining financial solutions and digital technology, providing flexible loan packages with overdraft limits at competitive interest rates, specialised financial consulting and 24/7 support via digital channels.
