Drake Cheers On Hometown Blue Jays in World Series Showdown

Canadian superstar Drake made a notable appearance at Game 6 of the 2025 World Series, held at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Halloween night. The event saw the Toronto Blue Jays striving to secure their first championship since 1993, with Drake leading a star-studded lineup of celebrities cheering on the home team. His presence, described as "hometown hero mode," was highlighted by MLB, which shared footage of his arrival on X, noting, "October’s Very Own is back at the #WorldSeries."
Drake's attendance was part of a broader Halloween-night spectacle that drew a "who’s who" of Canadian royalty and celebrity fans. Among those spotted were Rush frontman Geddy Lee, "Schitt’s Creek" actors Eugene Levy and Annie Murphy, former tennis professional Eugenie Bouchard, and "Sliders" actor Jerry O’Connell. Baseball legends Paul Molitor and Jack Morris, both World Series MVPs, also joined the crowd, adding to the high-profile nature of the event.
Beyond his physical presence at the game, Drake amplified his sports-fan persona through social media, particularly by trolling Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani throughout the series. Following Game 5, Drake posted a photo of Ohtani in a sweater vest with the caption "ONE MORE!!!!!!!", and later shared an image of Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage striking out Ohtani, humorously remarking: "Savage already [on the way] to the dugout boss lol."
With the Blue Jays holding a 3–2 lead in the best-of-seven series heading into Game 6, Drake’s highly visible appearance and his online antics generated significant excitement among fans, who hoped his presence would inspire Toronto to clinch their first title in over three decades.
Drake's deep-seated connection to Toronto's professional sports scene is well-documented. He has served as the NBA’s Toronto Raptors Global Ambassador since 2013, famously making headlines during the team’s victorious 2019 NBA Championship run. However, his outspoken nature has also led to controversies; his commentary privileges with the Raptors were suspended earlier in the year following controversial remarks concerning former Raptor DeMar DeRozan, demonstrating his passionate yet sometimes provocative engagement with the sports world.
