Dolly Parton Cancels Vegas Residency Over Unexpected Health Challenges!

Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated concert residency in Las Vegas. Originally scheduled for early December at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the residency has been rescheduled to September 2026.
Parton revealed on Sunday, September 28, that she is undergoing “a few” undisclosed medical procedures to address various health concerns. She explained in a statement posted on her social media accounts that these procedures would prevent her from having sufficient rehearsal time to deliver the quality show her fans deserve. “I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote. She lightheartedly referred to her situation as a “100,000-mile check-up,” clarifying it was not a typical visit to her plastic surgeon.
Emphasizing her commitment to her audience, Parton stated, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.” She assured fans that she would continue working on other projects from Nashville, but needed time to “get show ready.” Parton also quelled any fears of retirement, saying, “And don’t worry about me quitting’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
The original dates for the six-show run were December 4, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 13. Parton had planned to feature “seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites including ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Jolene,’ ‘I Will Always Love You’ and ‘Coat of Many Colors’” during the limited engagement. Tickets for these performances went on sale in June.
The rescheduled dates for the residency in 2026 are September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 26. Original tickets purchased will remain valid for the new dates, and refunds will also be made available. Ticket purchasers will receive further instructions via email from Parton and The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. This marks Parton’s first extended residency in Las Vegas since a brief engagement in the early 1990s at the former Mirage Hotel, where she performed alongside Kenny Rogers.
