Docs' Stunning Twist: Appendicitis Pain Reveals Unbelievable Truth About My Body

In a truly astonishing turn of events, Megan Isherwood, a 26-year-old woman from Burnley, found herself giving birth to a baby boy after being rushed to hospital with what was initially believed to be appendicitis. The dramatic sequence of events unfolded on September 9, leaving Megan and her family speechless at the unexpected arrival of baby Jackson.

Megan's ordeal began when she woke up at 4 pm feeling severely ill, experiencing intense pains in her right side and vomiting blood. Her friend, Gabbie Rose, urged her to seek medical attention, noting Megan's unusually high pain threshold indicated something serious was amiss. Paramedics, responding to a 111 call, assessed Megan and, given her symptoms including right-sided pain, high heart rate, and nausea, concluded she was likely suffering from appendicitis. This initial diagnosis was further supported by a negative pregnancy test Megan had taken just days prior.

Upon arriving at Blackburn hospital at 5:30 pm, Megan was taken to the intensive care unit. As she awaited a doctor, a sudden gush of blood soaked her bed, prompting a flurry of activity with approximately 15 doctors surrounding her. To ascertain the cause, they ordered both a CT scan and an ultrasound. It was during these scans that medical staff made a shocking discovery: not appendicitis, but a baby’s head and foot, revealing Megan was unexpectedly pregnant.

With the true nature of her condition revealed, Megan was immediately blue-lighted to Burnley hospital, which had midwifery facilities. En route, a paramedic instructed her to push if she felt the urge. As if on cue, something clicked, and Megan felt an undeniable need to push. Moments later, baby Jackson was born, weighing 4.6lbs. Megan described the experience as incredibly shocking and flustering, stating, “I had no bump, no symptoms at all, he just came out of nowhere.”

Jackson’s arrival, 33 weeks early, presented immediate challenges. Just minutes after his birth, he turned blue and stopped breathing, but quick-thinking paramedics successfully revived him. He was then transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Megan, meanwhile, was diagnosed with sepsis, as was Jackson, but both made a full recovery after receiving antibiotics. Hours after the birth, Megan was finally able to see her son, a moment she described as still not feeling real as she grappled with the surreal circumstances.

The scares didn’t end there; a couple of days later, Jackson stopped breathing again, only to be brought back by doctors once more. Despite these critical moments, Jackson, whom Megan affectionately calls “such a brave boy,” was eventually discharged on September 25 and has since been thriving at home with his mother. Megan, who believes the father is a man she is not currently in a relationship with, expressed her immense gratitude for the local community, who rallied to provide essential supplies for Jackson after word spread of her unexpected motherhood. Both Megan and her family continue to be astonished by Jackson’s miraculous arrival.
