On July 3, the musician took to social media to share the news with his fans and followers that his lover had passed away.
The singer has now released burial details, revealing that funeral planning meetings are ongoing at two venues: Kiboko Hotel in Kwambira, Limuru from 7:30pm, and Homeland Lounge along Thika Road from 6pm daily.
“The burial will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025, at her final resting place in Nyahururu, Ndaragwa, Nyonjoro village,” Banema shared in a tribute post.
However, the news of her burial has been clouded by controversy, as questions about the nature of their relationship have surfaced.
A TikToker identified as Abigail Nyaga, who claims to be Josephine’s sister, alleged that the two were never officially married and accused Banema of using the funeral to fundraise for personal gain.
“To clear the air, our sister will be buried at our home on Friday simply because she was not married to Banema,” Abigail wrote.
She further claimed:
“To those who are raising funds, just know Banema is working. We don’t know him. He should find another way to make money and stop lying that he was married to our daughter. She was the one keeping him.”
As the family prepares to lay Josephine to rest, these allegations have raised eyebrows among fans and friends alike.
TUKO.co.ke reached out to Banema and those close to him for comment regarding the claims but had not received a response by the time of publication.
