Reddit users are buzzing with speculation that actress Alia Bhatt might have adopted a new surname, possibly going by "Alia Kapoor" following her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor. The rumours were sparked by a viral video in which she appeared to use the Kapoor surname. While there's no official confirmation yet, the discussion is quickly gaining momentum online.

Alia had shared the video on YouTube with the caption, "Late for this, late for that, but in time for all the best bits! Pretty much described my time at Cannes '25."

Alia Bhatt shared a behind-the-scenes video from Cannes, where she was seen prepping with her stylist and sister-in-law Rhea Kapoor. One wrote, “Must’ve taken her husband’s name and kept Bhatt for her public facing career since she is widely known by that surname.” Another added, “Ok so obviously it's her choice to keep whatever last name she likes, buttt I really think Alia Bhatt has more ring to it. Alia Kapoor just sounds so basic.”

A third went on to add, “Maybe she wanted to have the same last name as her daughter, she is Alia kapoor. alia bhatt may be her stage name.”

Alia and Ranbir tied the knot on April 14, 2022, in a private ceremony held at their Bandra home, Vastu, with only close family and friends present. Ranbir shared that Alia took charge of all the wedding planning, while he just went along with her choices. In November 2022, they welcomed their daughter Raha, adding more joy to their lives.
