DHQ Highlights Anti-Terrorism Successes at NYSC Event

The Nigerian Armed Forces have reported considerable progress in counter-insurgency efforts nationwide, eliminating over 4,900 criminals, apprehending more than 34,900 suspects, and rescuing over 9,500 civilians between January 2022 and March 2025. Group Captain I.A. Bukar, representing Defence Media Operations at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, shared this information during a sensitisation campaign for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

Bukar praised the communities' resilience and underscored the military's firm dedication to re-establishing peace and safeguarding all Nigerians. He gave an overview of the Armed Forces' activities across the country's six geopolitical zones, emphasizing notable accomplishments. He also mentioned related news regarding the military arresting 34,500 terrorists and neutralising 5,000 in operations, a rainstorm destroying the Delta NYSC orientation camp and Otu urging corps members to deliver impactful community projects.

Bukar reaffirmed that the Armed Forces are partners in progress, not occupiers, and urged stronger community involvement, intelligence sharing, and ongoing dialogue to ensure long-term peace. He praised traditional leaders, youth organizations, and civil society organizations for their continuous support in promoting national security. Several corp members expressed gratitude for the military's resilience and pledged to uphold patriotism in their primary assignments.
