Devil May Cry trailer: Anime brings nostalgic vibes, fans say 'it's like a 2000s AMV'

Devil May Cry trailer: Streaming platform Netflix released a full-fledged trailer of the much-anticipated anime Devil May Cry and it has hooked people already. Devil May Cry is based on the well-known action-adventure game of the same name, which was made by Hideki Kamiya and developed by Capcom. Adi Shankar, the Indian-American film producer behind the is the the creator and showrunner of the anime.The game concentrates on Dante, a hunter who chooses to kill every demon in order to get payback for the loss of his mother. The trailer was released a few hours ago and people have had the best reactions so far. A lot of anime fans are even saying that it's bringing back the nostalgic 2000s AMV vibe (Anime music video.)

The nearly two-minute trailer, which was set to Papa Roach's ‘Last Resort,’ featured the extravagant action scenes that one would anticipate from Devil May Cry.

Reacting to it, one wrote, “Two things that put a smirk on my face. 1- Hearing Last Resort play in the video. 2- Vergil.”

A second added, “This trailer is basically the embodiment of every late 2000s AMV on YouTube.”

A third went on to add, “While I very much enjoy hearing early 2000s music, I am worried that it means I'm now old.”

Evil powers are at work unlocking the portal between the human and demon realms in this animated version of the well-known Capcom game, which is based on Adi Shankar's vision. Unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck, Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, is in the midst of it all.

Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Kevin Conroy as VP Baines, and Chris Coppola as Enzo will join voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch, who was previously announced as Dante.

Devil May Cry will release on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
