Demi Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Drops October 24 — Singer Calls It a Fresh Chapter

Demi Lovato has officially commenced a new chapter in her musical journey, announcing the imminent arrival of her ninth studio album this fall. On Monday, September 15, the acclaimed singer-songwriter revealed that her latest LP, titled "It’s Not That Deep,"is set to be released on October 24. This exciting news was accompanied by the unveiling of the album’s cover art and heartfelt reflections shared on her Instagram.
Lovato expressed profound pride and excitement regarding the new project, stating, “this music is a reflection of where i am now. so proud of all the work I’ve done, and now, it’s time to celebrate and have some fun!!!” The sentiment underscores a celebratory and introspective period for the artist, marking a significant personal and professional milestone.

The cover art for "It’s Not That Deep," which Lovato described as the “cover art of my dreams,” features a striking and symbolically rich tableau. The vocalist is depicted nude, partially veiled by a pink dress still on its hanger, set amidst a bustling and somewhat surreal scene. More than a dozen individuals are engaged in various activities, contributing to a "beautifully chaotic scene." Notable elements include two men engrossed in a game of chess, a young boy running with a soccer ball, and a woman placing headphones on a man, all unfolding around the central figure of Lovato.
She commented on the artwork's conceptual depth, saying, “we created the most beautifully chaotic scene surrounding me, and you know i had to lock the f–k in.” Lovato also extended gratitude to her fanbase, the "Lovatics," affirming her enduring affection: “i love you and i’ll never let you go.”

"It’s Not That Deep" marks Lovato’s first full-length album since 2022’s "Holy Fvck," an album that achieved considerable success, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. While "Holy Fvck" was characterized by a distinct rock sound, reports indicate a significant stylistic pivot for the new record. Lovato is reportedly returning to a dance-pop aesthetic, a shift already hinted at by the lead single “Fast” and the subsequent track “Here All Night,” signaling a vibrant new direction for her sound.
Further adding to the album’s personal significance, "It’s Not That Deep"will also be Lovato’s first release since her marriage to musician Jordan “Jutes” mLutes. The couple, who had previously collaborated on tracks featured on "Holy Fvck," exchanged vows in May, making this album a poignant reflection of her life's evolving landscape.
