Deepinder Goyal's 'Temple': Zomato Founder Dives Into Health Tech with Gravity Aging Hypothesis Device

Deepinder Goyal, the founder and CEO of Eternal, Zomato's parent company, has publicly addressed and defended his latest venture: an experimental brain blood flow monitoring device named 'Temple'. Responding to online accusations and memes, Goyal clarified the device's purpose and its connection to his much-touted Gravity Aging Hypothesis.
In a LinkedIn post, Goyal described Temple as an "experimental device to calculate Brain Flow accurately, real-time, and continuously." This innovation emerged from his ongoing research into the Gravity Aging Hypothesis, which he characterizes as a "scientific yet unconventional" theory proposing a direct role for gravity in human aging. Goyal provocatively stated, "Newton gave us a word for it. Einstein said it bends spacetime. I am saying gravity shortens lifespan," when introducing his hypothesis.
Goyal further elaborated on his reasoning, highlighting connections between three established scientific concepts: the slight reduction in brain blood flow caused by an upright posture, the heightened sensitivity of hypothalamus and brainstem neurons to even minor drops in circulation, and the critical role these brain regions play in regulating the aging process. He emphasized that the device's utility extends beyond the hypothesis itself.
Having personally used Temple for a year, Goyal expressed his belief that it "could shape into an important wearable the world needs." He underscored that "Brain Flow is already well accepted as a biomarker for aging, longevity as well as cognition," asserting that the device remains "useful and relevant even if the Gravity Aging Hypothesis turns out to be wrong." These statements were in response to Shubham Mishra's LinkedIn query, which posited that the 'inversion' concept revolves around a brain-blood-flow monitoring device, creating a new category in health wearables, with Temple designed to sit near the head's temple region.
Addressing online speculation and memes, Goyal clarified that "Temple is going to be a small, cute company, if at all. Nothing compared to Eternal." He also firmly denied that the Gravity Aging Hypothesis was concocted as a marketing gimmick to sell Temple, stating, "Not my game to lose the trust our customers have in me over a marketing gimmick."
The research driving these initiatives is conducted by Goyal's human existence exploration project, 'Continue Research'. This project has been dedicated over the past two years to studying biology, with the aim of discovering ways to decelerate human aging. As reported by Mint on Friday, October 24, 2025, Deepinder Goyal recently announced a significant $25 million fund for his Continue Research project, intended to back researchers and provide seed funding for startups focusing on upstream mechanisms in biology.
