Deadly Gas Tanker Explosion Rocks Ibadan, Three Feared Dead

A tragic incident unfolded in the Idi-Iroko, Amuloko area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, resulting in the loss of three lives. The catastrophe occurred when a tanker, laden with 15 tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), exploded while in the process of transferring its contents into a gas skid tank. This devastating blast also caused significant structural damage, impacting two shops and a residential building nearby.
The incident was officially confirmed by Mr. Maroof Akinwande, Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, in a statement released to newsmen on Saturday. Mr. Akinwande detailed that the agency received a distress call about the explosion at precisely 7:40 p.m. on Friday, originating from a Pastor Oyebamiji.
