OPAP Basket League top team - AEK Larnaca (22-1) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Etha (3-20)
99-59. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-59. AEK Larnaca dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 28. AEK Larnaca looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American forward Ray Spalding (208-1997, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international guard Ioannis Giannaras (187-1999) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. AEK Larnaca's coach Christophoros Livadiotis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Nikolas Louca (204-2003) replied with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for Etha. AEK Larnaca have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-1 record. Etha at the other side keeps the eighth place with 20 games lost. AEK Larnaca are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Achilleas (#9) in Kaimakli in the next round and are hoping to win another game. One of their biggest challengers APOEL (13-11) played at the court of fifth ranked Anorthosis (13-10). Anorthosis managed to secure a 8-point victory 80-72. Bahamas forward Kentwan Smith (203-1991, college: Stetson) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Greg Williams Jr chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American point guard Grant Singleton (183-2000, college: FDU, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Anorthosis moved-up to fourth place. APOEL at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. Anorthosis will play against Paralimni (#6) on the road in the next round. APOEL will have a break next round.
In the last two games of round 26 Paralimni was beaten by AEL on the road 77-69. Keravnos won against Apollon on its own court 96-81.
The most impressive performance of 26th round was 28 points by Nick Honor of Apollon.

No shocking result in a game when third ranked AEL (16-7) beat 6th ranked Paralimni (9-14) in Limassol
77-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter
19-15. But Paralimni won second period
20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when AEL won last quarter
20-13. They made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. American forward Tyrn Flowers (206-1998, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: GSE Worldwide) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 18 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard CJ Kelly (196-1998, college: UCF) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest.
