The most exciting game of round 20 in the OPAP Basket League took place in Larnaca. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Keravnos (14-4) to top-ranked AEK Larnaca (17-0)
85-82 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Keravnos. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Keravnos won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Shemarri Allen (193-1999, college: UCF) responded with 24 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Anorthosis maintains fourth position with 11-7 record. The game in Limassol was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked APOEL (10-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Apollon (5-13). APOEL defeated Apollon 100-88 on Friday. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by Jadyn Parker who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. Even 29 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists by Jonathan Cisse did not help to save the game for Apollon. APOEL have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 10-8 record. Apollon lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. APOEL will meet at home Etha (#8) in the next round. Apollon will play against Paralimni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last game of round 20 AEL smashed Achilleas on the road 87-58.

The game in Nicosia was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Anorthosis (11-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Etha (2-16).
