Corey Heim Dominates at Charlotte

Corey Heim secured his 15th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway's North Carolina Education Lottery 200, dominating the race by leading 98 of 134 laps. Heim's impressive performance included sweeping Stages 1 and 2 and setting the Xfinity Fastest Lap, culminating in a decisive 6.229-second win over NASCAR Cup Series regular Ross Chastain.

Heim described his comfortable lead and praised his No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, highlighting its strength on longer runs and the pit crew's crucial role in maintaining his position. This victory marked the largest margin of victory in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series history at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway.

With four wins in the first 11 races of the 2025 season, Heim has led an impressive 752 laps. Despite previous setbacks, such as a spin on the final lap at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Heim remains focused, attributing those incidents to circumstantial issues rather than consistent problems. He emphasized the importance of not letting these challenges affect his or his team's performance.

Chastain acknowledged Heim's exceptional performance, calling him "best in class." The race also saw Kaden Honeycutt, Chastain's Niece Motorsports teammate, achieve a career-best third-place finish. Layne Riggs finished fourth, while Kyle Busch, preparing for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600, finished fifth.

The top 10 was rounded out by Grant Enfinger, Matt Mills, Daniel Hemric, Rajah Caruth, and Brandon Jones. The race included a significant multi-truck crash on Lap 71 involving championship contenders Chandler Smith and Ty Majeski, along with Gio Ruggiero and Connor Mosack. Smith's race ended due to the incident, while Majeski finished 32nd.

Heim's win, combined with Smith's last-place finish, has expanded his lead in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular season standings to 100 points. Majeski has dropped to ninth in the standings. The series heads to Nashville Superspeedway for the Rackley Roofing 200 on May 30.
