Console Games Grab Bag: Cats, Bears, and a Slime · Adventures and mini-games galore
Assembling an army of kitties to fight off zombies and skeletons sounds promising so thankfully, is great fun that you'll love.

combines 2 super-fun formulas that were popularised by PopCap Games into one cohesive experience: Bejeweled and Plants vs. Zombies! You play it by making coloured cat food with the puzzle grid on the left by matching 3 of the same colour then you use the food to summon cats on the right grid-based battlefield where they'll automatically fight encroaching zombies and skeletons and stuff. This blend of puzzle and strategy is an absolute blast and when new gameplay mechanics gradually get introduced, you'll find yourself juggling all sorts of fun units and gimmicks as you fight new foes and set up your loadout for whatever's on the horizon. To make things even more enjoyable, there's a great sense of humour that'll make you laugh out loud as you play such as how litter boxes act as landmines. 🐈
When you mix puzzle and strategy this well and throw in loads of humour and colourful fun, you get and it's great stuff.
Cats on Duty gameplay video →When I see a new mini-game collection, I'm always intrigued, especially when it stars these cuties so here's .

Right off the bat, let me just say that being only single player boggles my mind. When I started playing it, I set up a 2nd controller in the hopes of having some multiplayer fun but my gaming chum and I soon turned our smiles upside-down. Anyway, on the bright side, is packed full of cute mini-games that you can master which resemble games like Snake, Bust-A-Move, and Frogger. Each one of these games is impressively enjoyable and as you progress through the campaign, they become increasingly challenging so there's a solid amount of entertainment to be had for sure. At the same time, it's hard not to be disappointed by how limiting the experience is considering there are only 8 mini-game types and you can only play solo. I like that you unlock stickers as you play and the graphics are absolutely adorable so it's definitely not a bad game; it's just one that could have been much, much more. 🧸
Playing 8 mini-game variations by yourself is slim pickings for sure but still manages to be pretty enjoyable.
Care Bears: Unlock the Magic gameplay video → Care Bears: To The Rescue Reviewmarkets itself as a casual Soulslike but I'd say that it's more of a simple action adventure game. Either way; let's play!

is an undeniably clunky game that has audio which cuts out all the time, plenty of visual oddities, and gameplay that doesn't always connect. Meanwhile, it's so incredibly charming and fun to play that I found myself hooked whenever I picked it up. For starters, you can customise your character however you wish and equip accessories that provide specific boosts and alter your appearance in the process so there's a lot of personality on display. As you hop around, you can slash a sword and use magic to combat enemies but there certainly isn't a huge variety of them. Along your travels, you'll find combat arenas and puzzle dungeons that are a lot of fun to clear out and as you do, you'll unlock all sorts of new skills and upgrades as well as level-up. It's cute and simple stuff but it could have used much more polish. ⚔️
I love what represents but I have to acknowledge its shortcomings which are unfortunately plentiful. It's very cute, though!
Slime Heroes gameplay video →I love playing hidden object games and they don't get much simpler or cuter than so let's go find some cats.

is a very basic hidden object game where your goal is to simply find 100 cats within 5 decently sized levels. Plus, there are a handful of stage-specific extras to find such as bees and birds. Anyway, most cats are easy to spot and when you find them, you'll be able to see their name and a little blurb about them which usually contains a pop culture reference. There are extras, too, such as how you can change the colour palette and play each level with a stopwatch enabled. However, it's a very quick game to complete and without much replay value to boot. Therefore, you might want to try it for an easy way to wind down after a long day a couple of times but besides that, there really isn't much to it. There was a lot of love poured in, though, and the illustrations and adorable music really highlight that well. 🦕
There may not be much to it but is a delightful little game regardless and it's sure to put a smile on your face.
