Commuter Chaos: Woman Audaciously Dyes Hair on Train, Sparks Outrage!

A woman named Vera sparked a heated online debate and stunned fellow passengers after openly dyeing her hair on a public train, documenting the unusual act on TikTok. The incident, which Vera described as a "Type B" move, saw her applying box dye to her curly hair while seated in the carriage, before heading to the train's toilet to complete the process. This unconventional beauty routine left an epic mess, with dye splattered on her shoulders and even on the walls of the train toilet. Despite admitting the situation was embarrassing, Vera declared herself "not embarrassed," sharing her experience with her followers.
Her TikTok video quickly garnered attention, but not all of it positive. Many commenters swiftly condemned Vera's actions, primarily citing concerns over the strong chemicals typically found in box hair dyes. Critics highlighted the potential health risks associated with the fumes in a confined public space, with one commenter emphasizing, "My parents have raging sinus issues and there's many people that can't breath those chemicals in hair dye like ammonia. The tube and public spaces already have appalling air quality as it is. Could you not have woken up earlier???" Another commenter echoed these concerns, stating, "Those fumes aren’t meant for confined spaces especially around kids, the warnings on every box dye." The lack of consideration for other passengers, potential allergies, and the general breach of public decorum were recurring themes in the backlash. Some even expressed their frustration with societal norms, remarking, "I actually hate London because why are people in the comments normalising this?! No decorum all because 'a girls gotta do what a girls got to do'. Ffs I hate this society fr."
The incident gained further traction when another passenger, Micaela, independently shared her shock on TikTok, capturing Vera applying the dye in the train carriage. Micaela, accustomed to minor make-up touch-ups, expressed disbelief at the full-on hair dyeing session. "Couldn’t believe it at first when she started to mix up her potions," Micaela wrote, adding, "Surely she wasn’t gonna apply it? I stand corrected!" Micaela even tagged Transport for London in her caption, drawing official attention to the event. In an unexpected turn, Vera herself commented on Micaela's video, confirming, "OMG, this is me!" Micaela, seemingly amused despite her initial surprise, replied, "Girl!! You are iconic, you had me creasing!"
While the majority of comments reflected disapproval and concern, a segment of the online community defended Vera. Some applauded her efficiency and boldness, with one supporter writing, "You know what? I respect it. Go ahead babe!" Another agreed, "As she should - like we are we wasting 20 minutes on the train when we can do so much! We are busy - girls gotta do what a girl’s gotta do." Yet, humorous comments also arose, such as "Just imagine if the tube had to stop for a signal failure," and a relatable admission, "And I feel weird reapplying lipstick!" The incident underscored a broader conversation about personal space, public etiquette, and the boundaries of convenience in shared environments.
