Coinbase Drops Bombshell: Two Popular Cryptos Face Delisting Next Month!

Major cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced significant changes to its asset listings, revealing plans to delist three crypto assets and introduce several new ones in September 2026. This strategic adjustment follows the exchange's regular monitoring process to ensure all listed assets meet its stringent standards.

Coinbase confirmed its decision to suspend trading for Badger DAO (BADGER) and Storj (STORJ) on September 28, 2026, on or around 2 PM ET. This suspension will impact Coinbase.com (Simple and Advanced Trade), Coinbase Exchange, and Coinbase Prime. In preparation for the delisting, the order books for BADGER and STORJ have already been transitioned to limit-only mode, allowing users to place and cancel limit orders, with matches potentially occurring. Importantly, holders of these assets will retain access to their funds and will still be able to withdraw them from the platform.

Adding to the delistings, Coinbase had previously announced in early August its intention to suspend trading for IoTeX (IOTX) on September 23, 2026, also around 2 PM ET. Similar to BADGER and STORJ, IOTX trading will be halted across Coinbase Simple and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Exchange, and Coinbase Prime, with its order books already in limit-only mode.

While preparing for these delistings, Coinbase has simultaneously expanded its ecosystem with new listings in August. Several assets were added to Coinbase's roadmap, including Basecat (BASECAT), DebtReliefBot (DRB), Dolphin (POD), and Grass (GRASS). Among these, Grass (GRASS) and Basecat (BASECAT) have already been fully listed on Coinbase and within the Coinbase app, enabling users to buy, sell, convert, send, receive, and store these new assets.

In related news, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong highlighted the impressive early performance of the new US500 index perp. This index, which tracks the 500 largest companies in America, achieved a significant milestone by crossing $100 million in 24-hour trading volume within just one week of its launch, demonstrating strong market momentum.
