Kellys Kaunda, reflecting on the incident, stated that while he can defend the decriminalization of insult laws, even if directed at him, he cannot condone such a disrespectful act. He emphasized that wishing someone dead, or depicting them in a coffin, is an unacceptable practice. He argued that President Hichilema, despite potential disagreements, is useful to many and occupies a public office where policy debates, not personal attacks or matters of life and death, should be the focus.
