Grammy Award winner Coco Jones and NBA star Donovan Mitchell are officially a couple, as they recently got engaged. The duo, who have kept their relationship out of the public eye, shared the news on Instagram on Friday.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, a representative for the couple said, "After an amazing season and a sold-out tour, Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones took a moment to recharge on vacation, which turned into a beautiful engagement." The announcement revealed that the two have been dating for two years and are looking forward to their future together.

Mitchell posted a romantic video of the proposal, which took place at a picturesque resort near a body of water surrounded by palm trees. In the clip, the couple walks alongside a pool before Mitchell gets down on one knee and proposes. Jones, visibly emotional, accepts, and the two embrace.

The couple also shared an adorable photo of them kissing, with Jones' hand on Mitchell’s chest, proudly displaying her sparkling engagement ring.

Despite their celebrity status, they’ve kept their relationship private. When asked in past interviews, Jones remained discreet, telling The Breakfast Club in April, “I’m happy, and that’s all I got to say about it.”

In a February appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Jones acknowledged the online speculation, saying, “I love the internet because they definitely clocked my tea.” Still, she emphasised her desire for privacy, adding, “Some things I keep for myself ‘cause this is my life, too.”

The ICU singer said guarding her private life helps protect her loved ones. "I don't want to ever feel like I have to be somebody's secret," she said. "I'm trying to protect myself, my family, and whoever I love."

With this engagement, the couple now steps into the public eye as an officially confirmed pair.
