It could be recalled that in a heartfelt demonstration of compassion and service, the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun recently successfully carried out its Widows Empowerment Project, which saw the donation of 20 grinding machines to widows in the Oshodi community.

The initiative, which aligns with Rotary’s focus on economic and community development, was held in two phases. Screening and selection of the beneficiaries took place on Thursday, 20th March, 2025, and followed by the official presentation ceremony on Tuesday, 25th March, 2025, at 1A Arowojobe Street, off Adeyemi Street, Oshodi, Lagos.

Past President, Rotarian Kudirat Olaopoola, who chaired the Widows Empowerment Committee, emphasized the importance of investing in women-led businesses, particularly widows who often carry the weight of their families alone.

The widows who were selected through a transparent process received not only the grinding machines but also technical support from Rotary leaders and community stakeholders present at the event. The beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as life-changing.

These projects added to the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun’s growing portfolio of impactful community-based initiatives, reinforcing its reputation for service,  compassion, and service to humanity.
