- Former Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala is a free man after hours in police custody.
In a statement on Thursday, April 10, Alfred Makotsi, an aide to the former UDA party secretary general, confirmed his release.
Makotsi, who had earlier revealed that Malala was being held in Eldama Ravine, stated that he had been released unconditionally.
He expressed gratitude to Kenyans for their support that helped secure the outspoken former lawmaker's freedom.
"Thank you Kenyans! Sen Cleo Malalah released. No charges preferred," he stated.
