Claims that J.B Danquah was a CIA agent false - Gabby Otchere-Darko claims
Leading member of the NPP, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has expressed concern over what he perceives as false claims about J.B. Danquah.
He stated that, for the past 15 years, he has read books and conducted thorough research into allegations that J.B. Danquah was a CIA agent.
However, he asserts that no official document exists to support claims that J.B. Danquah betrayed Ghana.
According to him, the source of these falsehoods about J.B. Danquah must be identified.
“For the past 15 years or so, I’ve combed through declassified CIA files and more, read books, including Meridith’s State of Africa and Mahoney’s JFK: Ordeal in Africa, and NOWHERE is J.B. Danquah described as a spy. Who started this unpatriotic lie?” he questioned.
His comments follow arguments made by Murtala Mohammed on the floor of Parliament, asserting that J.B. Danquah is not worth celebrating because scholars have labeled him a traitor and a CIA agent planted in Ghana to sell the country’s secrets.
