Chukwueze Transfer Buzz: AC Milan Optimistic as EPL Clubs Eye Super Eagles Star
)
AC Milan is reportedly confident that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze will secure a permanent move to the English Premier League this summer.
Currently on loan at Fulham, the 26-year-old attacker has impressed, prompting the London club to consider activating his €24 million buy option.
Chukwueze’s potential departure aligns with AC Milan manager Max Allegri’s tactical preferences. Allegri’s 3-5-2 system does not favor traditional wingers, making the sale a strategic decision to optimize squad composition ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Milan officials are hopeful that Fulham will finalize the transfer, particularly after the winger’s strong form since returning from AFCON 2025, where he contributed two assists in three starts.
At Fulham, Chukwueze has tallied three goals and four assists across competitions, featuring prominently in recent victories over Manchester United and Everton.
His pace, dribbling, and direct attacking style have made him a key component of Marco Silva’s tactical setup, helping Fulham maintain a 10th-place position in the league table.
Milan officials believe this performance will convince the English club to secure his services permanently.
However, Fulham may face competition for Chukwueze. West Ham United has reportedly reignited interest in the Super Eagles star. The Hammers, who previously explored signing him before his 2023 move to Milan, are prepared to battle Fulham in the summer transfer window.
Their motivation is to strengthen Nuno Espírito Santo’s counterattacking squad, which already features players like Pablo Fornals, Taty Castellanos, and Adama Traore.
Reports suggest West Ham have made enquiries and are willing to meet the required fee, but their ability to finalize a deal depends on avoiding relegation, as they currently sit 18th in the Premier League standings.
The summer transfer window is shaping up to be a pivotal period for Chukwueze, with multiple clubs weighing the acquisition of the pacey winger, ensuring that the Super Eagles star remains one of the most watched names in European football.
