Chester: Music of classic Hollywood coming to cathedral
AN ORCHESTRA evoking the glitz and glamour of classic Hollywood is heading to Chester next month.
The Fulltone Orchestra will bring their new concert ‘The Golden Age of Hollywood’ to Chester Cathedral on Friday, June 27, at 7.30pm.
The 50-strong orchestra will perform music from films including The Magnificent Seven, Ben-Hur, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and The Great Escape.
The show will also include music from the James Bond films, iconic scores by Rogers and Hammerstein, and songs made famous by the likes of Judy Garland, Elvis, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers and many more.
Under the baton of musical director Anthony Brown, the audience will hear the music of legendary composers like Max Steiner, Bernard Herrmann, and Henry Mancini who lit up the silver screen with their iconic scores.
Vocalists Edward Kerr and Jemma Brown will join the orchestra to bring each song to life.
Founded by Anthony Brown in 2017, the Fulltone Orchestra features more than 50 exceptional musicians from the South West, performing a wide variety of music from awe-inspiring classical masterpieces to thrilling contemporary works.
Anthony said the surroundings and the music performed are a perfect match for one another and hoped that fans will enjoy the evening.
