The Blues are resolute in their decision not to consider any bids after this time, aiming to conclude speculation surrounding the Argentina international's future before the commencement of the new football season.

Sources indicate that Chelsea believes interested parties have had a generous 60-day window to formulate and submit a formal bid for Fernández. This firm stance comes after previous public statements from Real Madrid last month, distancing themselves from a move for the player. However, it remains uncertain if the Spanish giants will alter their position, especially given that their new boss, Jose Mourinho, is reportedly an admirer of the 25-year-old midfielder. Fernández himself had previously faced internal repercussions, including a fine and a two-game suspension from Chelsea, after publicly expressing his fondness for the Spanish capital in an interview.

While Real Madrid's interest is a factor, Manchester City has also shown an interest in Fernández. This potential move could become more viable if Barcelona succeeds in meeting City's €80m ($92m / £68m) valuation for their midfielder Rodri.
