The supposed scandal unfolded when the pair, both reportedly married to other individuals, were captured on a kiss-cam during the event. Their apparent awkwardness and chemistry were widely noted as the camera panned to them, leading to immediate public scrutiny.
Following the concert, a statement purportedly from Andy Byron began circulating online, acknowledging the "deeply personal mistake" and apologizing to his wife, family, and the Astronomer team. The statement also expressed concern over the private moment becoming public without consent, even quoting a Coldplay lyric. However, Byron’s company, Astronomer, has since refuted the authenticity of this statement, confirming to TMZ that it is "not a real statement" despite its rapid spread across social media platforms.

Andy Byron, 50, has served as the CEO of Astronomer since July 2023. He is married to Megan Herrigan, an Associate Director, with whom he has two children. In the wake of the alleged affair and the viral statement, Megan Herrigan garnered headlines herself by removing Byron's surname from her social media accounts before eventually deleting her pages entirely, further fueling public discussion around the personal repercussions of the incident.
