Celta signs Romanian keeper Radu to replace Guaita-Xinhua

MADRID, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Spanish La Liga club Celta Vigo has signed 28-year-old Romanian goalkeeper Andrei Radu on a four-year contract.

Free agent Radu joins to replace veteran Vicente Guaita, who leaves Celta after helping the northwestern outfit finish seventh in La Liga to qualify for next season's UEFA Europa League.

Radu has had a varied career since joining Inter Milan as a 16-year-old in 2013. The Romanian failed to establish himself at the San Siro and embarked on string of loan deals to clubs such as Genoa, Parma, Auxerre and Bournemouth.

Last season, Radu played 15 times for Serie A side Venezia, whom he had joined on a short-term deal in February. He also has four caps for Romania's national team, making his debut in 2022. ■
