The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has sent to e-commerce marketplaces over the sale of Pakistani flags and related merchandise.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, in a post on X, stated that the CCPA has issued notices to Amazon India, Flipkart, Ubuy India, Etsy, the Flag Company, and the Flag Corporation over the sale of Pakistani flags and related merchandise.“ Such insensitivity will not be tolerated. E-commerce platforms are hereby directed to immediately remove all such content and adhere to National laws,” Joshi stated in his post.

Earlier, traders body, the Confederation of All India Traders, had written to the Commerce Ministry and Consumer Affairs Ministry, flagging that major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon and Flipkart, are openly selling Pakistan flags, logo-bearing mugs and t-shirts. Terming it as a disturbing situation, the trader’s body said it is not merely an oversight but a grave matter. It had asked for a ban on selling Pakistani flags, logos and related merchandise across all e-commerce marketplaces.
