Carter Efe Triumphs Over Portable in Celebrity Boxing Thriller, Followed by Lavish Gifts and New Arrivals

Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Portable faced a mixed bag of events recently, experiencing a defeat in a celebrity boxing match against skit maker Carter Efe while simultaneously welcoming a new baby boy with his wife. The highly anticipated bout, which headlined the 'Chaos in the Ring 4' event held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, saw Carter Efe emerge victorious by unanimous decision.

Carter Efe, a skitmaker and online entertainer, demonstrated a dominant performance throughout the three rounds. Leveraging his height and reach advantage, he outclassed Portable, who had previously boasted about securing a third boxing belt after exhibition wins against Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington. After the fight, Carter Efe expressed his elation, describing the victory as "easy peasy" and boasting about damaging Portable's face in the first round. He proclaimed himself an "international world star," adopting the moniker "Carter Mayweather," and claimed Portable was shaking and almost fainted by the second and third rounds. All three judges scored the bout 27-30 in Carter Efe's favour.

Following his triumph, Carter Efe was honored with a N50 million cash prize, a pledge made by Lagos-based socialite and entrepreneur Emeka Okonkwo, widely known as E-Money. E-Money confirmed the reward at the conclusion of the event, stating, "You know we put our money where our mouth is, and so congratulations Carter on your win. N50 million for you." Ezekiel Adamu, CEO of Balmoral Group Promotions, commended the event's success, noting it delivered on its promise of entertaining fights.

Meanwhile, Portable, whose full name is Habeeb Okikiola, announced the birth of his son on Instagram just hours after his defeat. His wife, Omobewaji Ewatomi, delivered a baby boy, whom they named Jamal Iremide. Reacting to both developments, Portable prioritized his newborn son, stating, "My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt, but not my child." He expressed frustration over the boxing outcome, alleging unfairness and claiming, "You people cheated. They can’t pay the money amounting to the sum of N23 billion. I thought I was going to dance with my belt, but I ended up with my new baby." Portable also noted the coincidental timing, saying, "While my wife was in labour, I was fighting. She gave birth to a boy… I wanted a third belt for my children; I already have two… You can have the belt." This new addition further expands Portable's family, as he already has children from other relationships.
