Cardi B Unleashes Shocking Allegations: Offset's Divorce Delay Tactics & Demands Exposed!

Cardi B’s divorce from Offset, filed for the second time last summer, remains unfinalized more than a year later. Despite Cardi B moving on to a new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs and expecting their first child together, she disclosed on X Spaces on Monday, September 22, the alleged reasons for the ongoing legal entanglement. According to the Grammy-winning rapper, Offset has made a list of demands, including that she pay his taxes and relinquish one of her properties, before he agrees to sign the divorce papers.
“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” Cardi B stated. She further elaborated, “Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes — even though I pay for my own — and give them one of my properties.” The 32-year-old artist affirmed her resolve, declaring, “I’ma fight for that. This is not no love s—t. I’m not gonna stop living my life.” Billboard has reportedly reached out to Offset’s representatives for comment regarding these claims.
During the same X Spaces session, Cardi B also addressed comparisons to Nick Cannon, who is known for having multiple children with different partners. She firmly pushed back, stating, “You can’t compare me to Nick Cannon. I don’t got 12 different baby daddies. I got three kids with one baby dad. And I’m gonna have a new baby with another man.”
In a separate interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, where she initially revealed her pregnancy, Cardi B expressed her desire for a better co-parenting relationship with Offset. “I just wish he was a better person, but it is what it is,” she commented. “Be a better person for your kids … I think he has some type of hate in his heart right now. If we all move on, there shouldn’t be no animosity. Your life, my life, separate. We should be able to raise kids. We should be able to ask each other questions.”
Cardi B and Offset began their relationship in 2017 and quietly married later that year. They share three children. Cardi B initiated the second divorce filing in July 2024. In other news, Cardi B recently released her anticipated sophomore album, “Am I the Drama?”, on September 19, which Offset publicly praised as “hard.”
