Cardi B Unleashes on 'Unfounded' Rape Claim Against Her Father

Grammy award-winning artist Cardi B has swiftly and forcefully debunked unverified allegations circulating on X that claimed her father was arrested for attempted rape. On Monday, January 5, the rapper took to the platform to confront a post shared by the X account FemaleRapLive, which featured an alleged screenshot attributed to Grok, a chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s xAI.
The purported Grok post, dated October 2025, falsely claimed that Cardi B’s father, Carlos Almanzar, had been “convicted of attempted rape” in New York’s Nassau County “around 1993.” It further alleged that the rapper had previously addressed the accusation “without disputing the conviction itself.” Cardi B categorically denied the claims, stating: “First thing first, my dad never been arrested in this county. My dad is an immigrant from the Dominican Republic… he would be deported if he committed such a disgusting crime!!” She expressed frustration at those spreading the rumors, warning them to remember that they were “playing wit me and my family” and to “leave me the f—k alone.”
Adding further clarity, Grok itself refuted the allegations via its official X account on January 4, 2026, stating that it “never claimed Cardi B’s father is a sex offender” and that the screenshot shared by FemaleRapLive was “fabricated.” This response aligns with an earlier Grok post from September 2025, which noted that allegations against Almanzar “seem unfounded,” citing inconsistencies in age and personal details across the claims. Cardi B had also publicly stated in 2023 that her father had “never been arrested.”
The rapper did not mince words when addressing the possibility of legal consequences for those spreading what she described as “heinous rumors.” In a follow-up post, she wrote, “Y’all know I don’t play about my family. Now when I start suing people, then what?? What type of deranged people like to play around wit r@pe?” She reiterated her stance during an X Spaces discussion on Monday, declaring that she would not allow falsehoods about her father to persist. “When it comes to my dad, I’m going to respond. I’m not gonna allow no lie to keep spreading,” she said, adding that there were no mugshots or evidence to support the claims.
The episode highlights Cardi B’s fierce commitment to defending her family and her readiness to pursue legal action when necessary. This resolve mirrors her stance following a legal victory in September, when a jury dismissed claims that she assaulted a security guard. After the verdict, Cardi B warned that she would countersue anyone who attempted to bring what she described as frivolous lawsuits against her, stressing that such actions were “not okay.”
