Caitlin Clark rejoined her Indiana Fever teammates for the first time in three weeks, and the result was a blowout victory over the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty.
New York arrived at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday, June 14, as the only undefeated team in the league (9-0).
The Liberty left the city a few hours later with a 9-1 record on the heels of a 14-point loss to Clark and company, who moved to .500 on the year (5-5) and sent a message to the rest of the WNBA that -- like their star point guard -- they are back and a force with which to be reckoned.
Clark led the way for the Fever Saturday, scoring 32 points and sniffing a triple-double by adding nine assists and eight rebounds. She had a couple of interesting interactions with teammates during the first half after 21 days sidelined by a quad injury.
One such interaction came between Clark and Natasha Howard with less than a minute to play in the second quarter.
Howard caught the ball in the post, while Clark moved off the ball behind the 3-point arc. Clark felt she got open and gestured to Howard to pass, though Howard chose to hold onto the basketball and ended up scoring a 2-point basket.
Despite the success of the play, Clark tossed her hands up in annoyance that the 11-year veteran didn't find her for an open look. In fairness to Clark, she scored 25 points in the opening half. However, some fans criticized Clark on social media for her reaction to what ultimately proved a successful possession.
The other interaction of note took place between Clark and Aliyah Boston earlier in the first half and was more positive. In fact, Indiana posted video of it to the team's official X account during the game.

"Caitlin Clark's dime to Aliyah Boston from past half court is today's @StateFarm Assist of the Game," the Fever wrote.
Clark spoke to the ABC broadcast team on the court as part of the postgame, during which she was asked about what it was like to get back in sync with Boston -- another former No. 1 overall pick and one of Clark's top teammates.
"Man, I just love AB," Clark said. "She's a very unselfish player. She can hunt a triple-double every night. ... I just love being out there with her."
