Published 9 hours ago2 minute read

A NORTHWICH takeaway is one of those in the running for the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards 2025.

Burg 'N' Ice is on a shortlist of 10 North West restaurants and more than 100 UK restaurants released last week.

The Witton Street takeaway is around two and a half years old and, last year, it received regional recognition for the best burger in Mid Cheshire in a poll by the Northwich and Winsford Guardian.

Now it is up for national recognition although it is a big ask as it is up against a number of other restaurants in the North West and more than 100 other restaurants in the rest of the UK and Ireland.

The voting is underway for the regional winners ahead of an awards ceremony for the national winners later in the year where other a number of other awards are to go to trailblazers in the industry.

The prize for the regional winners is £5,000 and the prize for the national winners is £100,000.

Matthew Price, the general manager of Uber Eats UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, said: "The Restaurant of the Year Awards are not just celebrating restaurants, we are investing in the future of food. The new Next Gen Trailblazer Award is a bold step in backing the young innovators who are rewriting the rules of hospitality."
