Published 10 hours ago2 minute read

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State said that the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari was a monumental loss to the nation.

Nwifuru, in a statement, described the former president as a disciplinarian who lived all his life to serve the country.

He noted that Buhari consistently embodied integrity, courage, and simplicity values that endeared him to millions of Nigerians, noting that his death is a great loss.

While commiserating with President Bola Tinubu and the people of Kastina State, Nwifuru stated that Buhari was more than a national leader who was a partner in development and a friend to our people.

“Buhari was a towering figure whose life was marked by selfless service, discipline, and an undistracted commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria,” Nwifuru said.

“From his first appearance on the national stage as Military Head of State in 1984 to his return as democratically elected President in 2015, President Buhari consistently embodied integrity, courage, and simplicity—values that endeared him to millions of Nigerians.

“For us in Ebonyi State, President Buhari was more than a national leader. He was a partner in development and a friend to our people.

“We commiserated with the Government and people of Kastina State and the Federal Government for the colossal loss and prayed for the repose of the soul of the former President.”
