Budget Bride Wins Praise After Choosing £80 SHEIN Dress Over Designer Labels

Chloe Gregory, a bride from Ammanford, Dyfed, Wales, successfully planned a wedding on a strict budget, proudly wearing a wedding dress purchased from the online retailerSHEINfor a mere £80. Despite the low cost, Chloe felt like 'a million dollars' and 'a princess' on her wedding day, August 23rd, and many onlookers were convinced her gown cost 'thousands'. Her husband, Ashley Hooper, and she consciously cobbled together items from other bargain websites likeTemu and AliExpress to keep overall costs down, ultimately spending only £7,000 on their entire wedding.
Chloe's decision to forgo traditional bridal shop experiences stemmed from her desire to avoid falling in love with dresses only to be disappointed by their exorbitant price tags. She explained that she had seen theSHEINdress on TikTok and ordered it, prepared to return it if it wasn't suitable. However, upon trying it on, she felt it was 'like Cinderella's slipper', requiring only a minor hem alteration due due to her height. She was particularly impressed by its floral details and overall quality, noting that her makeup cost more than the dress itself.

The newlywed aims to inspire other brides to consider budget-friendly options, demonstrating that a beautiful wedding doesn't necessitate a fortune. She highlighted that the most significant expenditure for their wedding was on the photographer and videographer, as they believed it was crucial to capture the special moments. Other decor, such as candlesticks, holders, table cloths, and fake flowers, were sourced from Temu and AliExpress, receiving compliments for their quality despite being a fraction of the price of real ones.
While Chloe has received a few negative comments online, suggesting her dress looked cheap, she has largely ignored them. She believes these comments only surfaced because she openly shared its SHEIN origin. Conversely, many commenters on her viral post were impressed, with one bridal consultant stating, 'I'm a bridal consultant and I couldn't tell it was a Shein dress! Congrats.' Others shared similar experiences of finding affordable wedding dresses, some even discovering the same dress they had bought for £2,000 from a bridal shop was available on SHEIN for £80. Chloe emphasizes that her happiness and the compliments she received from loved ones were what truly mattered.
