Fernandes shared some words for his former Man United teammate Scott McTominay after Napoli won the Serie A.
McTominay scored in Napoli's 2-0 win over Cagliari to help his team secure the 2024/25 title ahead of Inter Milan on Friday, May 23. It is their fourth title in their history and second since their 2023 triumph.
The Scottish midfielder has now become a cult hero in Naples following his impressive performances. He scored 12 Serie A goals and established himself as one of the club’s key players after joining in 2024.
"I'm lost for words. It's incredible you know, the sacrifice that every single player in the group has put forward to the cause," said McTominay after the game via BBC Sport,
"And the people deserve it because they've been behind us from day one, and for me to come and experience this is a dream."
Fernandes sent a lovely message to his former teammate on Instagram after Napoli's historic win.
“Congrats my friend. Resilience, discipline and determination have always been there from you! Now with confidence your qualities are shining more than ever. Enjoy your moment”.
Man United sold the midfielder in the summer transfer window for £25.7 million, and some feel it was the wrong decision. Meanwhile, Fernandes and Man United will end the season trophyless.

McTominay is one player who has flourished since leaving Manchester United. Despite facing criticism during his time at Old Trafford, he has been reborn in Italy.
"I took it, I didn't look back. It didn't take me long to make the decision because I knew that was what I wanted, and I'll never have any regrets in my life," he told the BBC last year.
Heb has started 33 out of 34 Serie A matches he was involved in and bagged 12 goals and six assists.
Antony has also been thriving in Spain with Real Betis after his loan move in January. Since then, he has registered nine goals and five assists in 25 matches.
Anthony Elanga has also been flying at Nottingham Forest. Dean Henderson recently won the FA Cup with Crystal Palace, while David de Gea has had a great season at Fiorentina.
Earlier, reported that former Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said the club made the wrong decision by selling McTominay.
The Besiktas boss said the midfielder kept popping with goals and knew the culture of the club.
He made his Premier League debut on May 7, 2017, under Jose Mourinho against Arsenal.
